Hello. I’m Alasdair, but as the Paul Simon song goes, you can call me Al.

I was born in Britain, growing up in Edinburgh for the majority of my life. My childhood was spent outside sailing and camping around Scotland and this has instilled a love of the outdoors which is continually flourishing.

As such, I have started this Travel and Hiking blog! I am well experienced in both of these areas.

The most memorable travelling memory I have as a kid was when we drove to Greece and toured around the country for several sunny weeks. We saw old Olympia and raced the original 100m track in sandals, ate Greek cuisine in the crowded streets on Monemvasia, watched ships pass through the Corinth Canal, camped under the monasteries perched on top of Meteora and topped the holiday off by spending a week on the beaches of Lefkada windsurfing, playing on SUPs and enjoying the sun.

This trip truly ignited a love of travel in me and since then we have done similar road trips to Austria via Germany, Spain via Eastern France and all around Iceland. I also participated in a five week remote expedition to the Peruvian rainforest with BES, like all my other siblings. At university, I fell in love with hiking and trekking the mountains of Scotland. I have completed a large number of trails and hiked a great number of Munros in the Scottish highlands.

And so, since then, I have been going on my own adventures and as such, I will be sharing my experiences of these trips here on my blog. Please read, enjoy, and get in touch if you have any questions.
