Dear Friends and Family,

You can tell my time in Australia is coming to a close when you read this.

I have spent the last wee while in Melbourne since returning from Tassie. Melbourne is great! I flew in after some last minute scrambling due to The Spirit of Tasmania being cancelled from the horrible weather. I actually have been staying in two hostels. The first was one called The Village which, spoilers, I really didn’t like. Let’s just say that it seemed to be party central. So I moved from there after literally two nights to my preferred Melbourne Central YHA. Much better.

I bumped into Tom again, who I met and hung out with in Hobart. That was fun. His five month trip to Australia was coming to an end. I also had French and Turkish roommates! The French guy was working in the mines out by Perth and was having a short holiday, whilst the Turkish guy was taking language classes in Melbourne. He was impressed I even knew “hello” in Turkish!

I had a quiet time in Melbourne really. Well, overall. I did get invited out to a party by Lana and Kim who I met on the OT. That was a fun night, just crashing their massive group of friends. I also explored some of the parks, all the markets, the city centre of Melbourne and went out to the “beach resort” area of town, St Kilda, since it was mentioned in a Cat Empire song (The Crowd).

But overall I have done a lot of reading and writing this blog in my spare time. I am currently hustling to finish my Inter-rail stories before I head to New Zealand. As it stands, I have three left to write, which really isn’t that much I have decided.

Tomorrow, I will be getting the train back to Sydney before I fly out to New Zealand on Tuesday 25th. Exciting times!

Love,

Al
