Dear Friends and Family (or is it Family and Friends? Hmmmm…),

I got to Australia! A 12hr flight from Heathrow to Hanoi was first, where I sat beside a loud Australian guy. An 18hr layover in Hanoi followed (I slept a lot) before another 9hr flight to Sydney where I again, slept.

I am not suffering from too much jetlag honestly. I am surprised, but let us hope that it stays that way and I don’t crash in the next couple days! I love Sydney though! I would more than happily live here, and I have only been here 48hrs! I have attended a Physics talk, gone for a long harbour walk and exploring the CBD area of the city. The walk was called “Spit to Manly walk” which I thought for a split second was an instruction or Australian saying, instead of the name of the walk.

Tomorrow I am going for another walk and gonna explore the Surry Hills area of town and Sunday, I am going to a vintage cinema to see a screening of Casablanca (1942) which I have been wanting to see for ages, so naturally, I went to the opposite side of the Earth to do so! And then a jazz club on Sunday evening with a friend I made on the plane.

And then come Monday, I am off to Brisbane. Exciting times! Hoping you are all doing and feel free to shoot me a message. Much love,

Al
